3 Flavoured Water Recipes To Reduce
Bloating And Craving
Hi all,
Are you too not happy about weight gain like me during the lockdown and restricted activity? I really crave sweets nowadays, and just can’t seem to control them.
I was never a sweet-toothed person, but lately, I crave sweets almost every day, and I wish I could do something about it. Well, here I share several ways to control my urges, which I am also trying. But coincidently, most of them involve, one thing only – Self-control. Once my dietician had suggested something extremely interesting, which made me curious and obviously being a curious cat I decided to give it a try, and believe me in four days I have managed to be away from sweets. Hmmm! Not bad for someone who couldn’t be away for even a single day.
Reduce Bloating And Cravings – How!
Try Natural Flavored Water
I drink 4 liters of water, so my dietician told me to try flavoring it a bit, and so now whenever I crave sweets, I take few sips and the water tastes so yum, I manage to control my cravings.
Here are a few recipes of natural flavoring water without increasing the calorie content but just its nutrient value. Please do not fall for the flavored waters available in markets – most contain preservatives, artificial sweeteners, artificial colorings, dextrose, high fructose corn syrup, and refined sugar (read those labels!)
You can make your own infusions at home – it’s really very easy. Simply add fresh fruits except for banana mostly citrus and berries are ideal, fragrant fresh herbs and spices also many herbs complement to fruit flavors, mash the fruits and herbs with a wooden spoon, to filtered water and put it in the fridge.
Try different combinations to find the taste you like – it’s so much better for you than fizzy drinks!
Here are a few awesome ones I tried to reduce bloating and cravings.
CUCUMBER, MINT & LEMON WATER
Ingredients:
½ a cucumber, sliced
¼ cup fresh mint leaves
½ a lemon, sliced
1 liter filtered water
Mix or muddle them all together and add it to 1 liter of water.
This flavored water is great to manage bloating and improving digestion.
WATERMELON, MINT & CINNAMON WATER
Ingredients:
½ watermelon cut up in small chunks
mint leaves
filtered water
Benefits: This type of flavored water will help you detox. Watermelon helps the body flush out toxins. It contains citrulline, which is an amino acid that has been shown to help the liver and kidney during the detoxification process.
GREEN TEA, MINT & LIME WATER
This is the easiest one and my personal favorite because of its mere convenience in making it.
Ingredients:
Make a cup (200ml) good quality green tea or flavored green tea is tastier.
Add ½ bunch of mint and some sliced lime add this to 1 liter of chilled water, and you have your flavored water ready to be sipped.
Benefits: Great for fat burning and digestion.
Orange Water
Just wash the orange and slice it with the skin and put 3-4 slices in 1 liter of water, and keep sipping the same whole day and keep refilling it.
